I didn't receive my verification email. What should I do? +
Check your spam or junk folder first. If it's not there, open the vTown app and tap "Resend Email" on the verification screen. Make sure the email address you entered is correct — if you made a typo, tap "Wrong email? Change it" to update it. If you're still having trouble, contact us at support@vtownapp.com.
How do I reset my password? +
On the login screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link in your inbox. Click the link, enter your new password, and you're good to go. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder.
Why can't I post more content? +
vTown has posting limits to keep the community healthy and prevent spam. You can post up to 5 times per day on the notice board, send up to 3 replies per post, and send up to 20 chat messages per hour. These limits reset automatically.
What is my anonymous code and why can't other users see my name? +
vTown is designed with privacy in mind. When you create an account, you're assigned a unique anonymous code (like AB-3K7). This is your public identity within the app — your real name and personal details are never shown to other users. This helps keep your community interactions safe and private.
Why does vTown need my location? +
vTown is a hyperlocal community app — it uses your location to assign you to your nearest neighbourhood and show you relevant local content and conversations. Your precise location is never shown to other users. You can deny location access, but this will limit the app's functionality.
How do I report a post or user? +
Reports are reviewed and action may be taken where appropriate. For urgent concerns, email us at support@vtownapp.com.
How long do chat messages stay visible? +
Live chat messages are hidden from the app after approximately 48 hours. This keeps conversations fresh and relevant to what's happening in your neighbourhood right now.

Delete your account

If you'd like to delete your vTown account, email us at support@vtownapp.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

Important: Deleting your account may remove or de-identify your profile, posts, and other associated account data, subject to any data we may retain for legal, safety, fraud prevention, or operational reasons as described in our Privacy Policy.
